The news is up on AnimeonDVD.com: there's an Amazon preorder page for "Monster - Herr Dr Tenma" from Viz (December 2004). Given that Viz titles usually show up in Amazon's database before they announce them, it looks rather likely that this is true. This also makes it likely that Viz has/will get the anime, since they tend to play it safe as far as big franchises go. |

While I hate how the only way things will get licensed is because of an anime (which I suspect was the big draw for this) I'm just happy to see this at all.
And in time for Christmas yay! |

Sweet, kind of like Viz, so it'll be a nice addition to my book shelf. |

I like Viz too. They're my favorite publisher of manga, so I'm happy about this news. |

I'm just glad it happened after you guys finished it! I remembered when the anime was announced I was dreading that you guys would stop scanlating the last volume due to the manga getting licensed.
Another series I already have scanlated that I'll be buying as it comes out. It'll be a good way to get some people I know into manga, as it is a pretty sophisticated format most aren't used to reading zips on their computer.
update: does this mean the HQ releases of early chapters are on hold pending confirmation? |
