Great news everyone.
Looks like Viz is repackaging it and releasing it under its original title.

Who knows, maybe there's even hope for N°5 to really get revived; after this and the licensing of the Ping Pong movie.

They licensed the Ping Pong movie? Fuck, I bought the R2 DVD in February because I figured it would never get released in North America. Oh well.

Yeah, where does it say Ping Pong got licensed? Kind of in the same situation as Neuroretardant (though I cheaped out and bought the HK "version") but it would still be good news if it got at least a limited release in the States.
That aside, awesome news about B&W. It's one of my all-time favorites, so I'll probably just end up buying the new edition provided they don't fuck the release up too bad. Crossing my fingers it sells well enough to warrant the release of the rest of No.5 and hopefully more Matsumoto manga.

Viz announced the license of the Ping Pong movie a few weeks ago.

Actually I shouldn't complain either; I snagged it for a decent price at Book-Off ($25 I think? A little steep for a used DVD, but R2 DVDs usually start at $45+ new, and the Japanese consider a piece of merchandise "used" as soon as someone breathes on it. Hell if you put some shrink wrap on it, you could have convinced me that it was brand-new.)

I was more miffed about buying a bootleg copy of Pornostar and then finding out a month later that (a) the official R1 DVD was coming out very soon (albeit with a craptacularly shitty new title) and (b) I can pre-order it from Amazon for basically the same price as the bootleg, after taking currency conversion and shipping into consideration.
