Like many of MangaScreener's other older projects, Bokurano has finally reached maturity stage - it's becoming an anime! It's website is of course http://bokurano.jp/ and it looks pretty damn good from the staff working on it (translated below). I can't wait for this! Anyone else excited?
Original Work: Mohiro Kitoh (Narutaru)
Director: Morita Hiroyuki (The Cat Returns, Gunsmith Cats, Kiki's Delivery Service)
Character Designs: Konishi Kenichi (Millenium Actress, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke)
Mechanical Advisor: Suzuki Tsutomu (Zone of the Enders, FLCL, Naruto movies)
Music: Nomi Yuuji (The Cat Returns, Whisper of the Heart, Hi no Tori)
Animation Production: GONZO (Saikano, Kaleido Star, Hellsing, Gankutsuou, Last Exile) |

Oh man, another Ikki manga getting animated?
Though I think that Gankutsuou was the only good thing ever to come out of Gonzo; and I'm only mildly excited about Bokurano as a series... I'm looking forward to this.
Fingers crossed for Freesia being the next. |

I think this will do better than Narutaru's anime did, since the story is a bit more upfront about where it goes, but I can see several similar problems with it. For instance, Bokurano isn't close to ending and they will have to fudge the ending or make it incomplete like Narutaru. I'm guessing it'll probably be another low-budget production too. I guess I don't really have much faith in anime these days. |

That's a great name for a manga for sure.
Flowcharts... does it get any better? |

Haha, really? I think Tokyo Flowchart's great actually, and would be sad if it ended. But it always struck me as a strip that's fun to read in between, say, Freesia and Kingyoya or whatever, as opposed to something you read in one go in book form.
Kotae wa 3tsu might lend itself better to the book experience though, but I can't see myself buying it either. |

I'm a bit late, but looks pretty interesting. I liked the first volume, though not as much as some of Kitou's other works, but I'll definitally be watching this. |

Any thoughts here now that the anime's been released? There are already some differences from the manga, but I thought it followed it pretty close...
1) Komo's dad is now a government official and not necessarily a military officer anymore.
2) No Dung Beetle in first battle
3) Someone's chair was changed in the cockpit, I forget whose |

I saw the first episode and I can honestly say I was very pleased. Directing was consistent and very atmospheric; overall just very well done. The music was really nice and the animation, while it didn't blow me away, was still good quality.
Overall very good though not totally mindblowingly so, but the manga took a little while to get me immersed, as well
And of course, the opening theme is totally kickass. |

If you compare the manga with the anime, even if they are a little different, i like both.
But why did they have to add a mark on the one who will have to be the next pilot, that s just ugly and useless :s
An other thing i didn t like, kako doesn't die like in the manga, it s too different and it doesnt feel like it s the same story
Worse than all those thing, i have seen somewhere that Mohiro Kitoh is ok with Hiroyuki Morita for find a way to save the childrens, as long as he doesn t use a "magic trick" because Hiroyuki Morita don t like how the story is going |
