legend of mother sarah was done by darkhorse (not that it makes much difference). as much as i like otomo, i don't like the idea of doing something that has been published already, even if it was discontinued. i recommend passing on that one...

Yea so Tinu we cannot do Legend of mother Sarah... because it licensed.

Roses of Versailles, I found this page
http://www.destinyofroses.org/oscar/

And I have learnt this manga is already published in france. And the art is really old-school style... not that nice in my opinion. The story is nice I know it's the story of the french revolution... I dunno if we will do old school manga tho'

As long as it's licensed we won't do it... for ethical reasons of promoting unlicensed manga... so we will not do manga that will most likely be licensed (anything by Watase Yuu) or manga that has been licensed before. Because there is no point doing a project that will likely be licensed in the near future.

Regarding RoV... I dunno... as I said I personally dislike the art... it's candy-candy type ~_~ and while you're very willing to translate, we are going to have to find people who will scan it and edit it... I admit the story is interesting.

Stephen, Izumi comment please. (The decision to start a new project is not mine alone)

I would try to find scanners for this series before thinking of starting it as a project.

I also need to know how far it goes (I know 7 bunkos, but how many volumes is that) and how many chapters you have.

I would love to do roses, its a classic and has a lot of critical aclaim. But you need to translate something very quickly if you want to keep our interest =)

Not to take anything away from H2, because I like H2, but comparing H2 to Roses of Versailles is ludicrous. The comparison might be justified if the Mitsuru Adachi work in question was Touch, but I'd still give the edge to RoV, not because I like RoV more than Touch (I don't), but because when you're throwing out phrases like "forever classic", historical context has to be given consideration.

You can't be serious with this comment...

You know you're getting too old when someone describes a series that you read in your high school days as "old school". Personally, I have a hard time slapping that label on a manga from the mid-90s era.

I am 18 ,male and bilingual

i think that H2 and RoV are oldschool because of the art and design...

RoV is known as a forever classic because in the history of manga it was zhe first drama, history ,fiction ,tragedy shojo manga (it was the first non candy boy meets girl-fall in love- screw -marry type of thing and it is great too)

the TV series was great enough to create a hipe in germany in the mid 90's and is being published now in germany because of the popular interest in akira sized bunkos (so about 16 tanks) every 2 month (book 1 was released this month^^ and sarah is finished over here in 11 small akira sized tanks....

well sahra ..... wount be continued .... I hardly doubt it..... and its been 5 years now anyways -----5 YEARS!!!!!!-----
its like waiting for tetsuka to come back from the death^^
or waiting for go nagai to redraw devilman (i wish i could read that one ~_~)

well... I would really like to do those series and i will be quick in translating them ^^ promise (sarah as fast as possible and one RoV bunko every 2 month)

In addition : some of you might know RoV under the name Lady Oscar^^
I already know the story and the ending so I know its great so..... damn it let do them^^
