Raijin Comics City Hunter Special

I was at Kinokunia today looking in vain for a Gorilla Man pocket book that i saw there last time, but instead of finding it i had to place it on special order (you wouldn't believe how frustrating it is to explain to the Japanese clerk that Harold Sakuishi wouldn't come up unless she spelled Harold in katakana) anyways, after ordering several of Harold Sakuishi's older manga i went over to check if Shonen Monthly Magazine had arrived (cause i wanna see the new color pictures~!) Where i found a copy of Raijin, well the interesting thing about Raijin in Japan is its actually marketted as a english learning tool, so i knew that even though it was in Japanese on the cover, the the interior would be english. I was proven right after i bought it, only thing i wonder at is if this is exactly the same stories that are in the USA Raijin 0... so thats why i'm writing this topic, someone help me out!
The manga only contained 1 full chapter, and that was of City Hunter, the chapter was about Ryo Saeba being without work for several months, until he is hired to work for a Stunt woman who doesn't want to be guarded.
The next is a couple pages of fist of the north star popping some guys head
then it was grappler baki or that guardian angel series, finished off with some badly drawn violent fanservice in the way of Bomber Girl.
tell me if this is sounding familiar

Cool thing is, it came with a mouse pad with city hunter on it, and has a cd (which i havn't installed yet) with like english lessons or something on it =P

nah, the stuff in raijin 0 was all first chapters, i believe. the city hunter was the one where he shoots the boxer through the ear. i can tell you about issue 1 when they ship it but i think that's in december.

oh yeah, and the author of bomber girl (niwano makoto) has to be the worst mangaka i've ever seen... period. he had one popular series in jump years ago, and since then nothing he's done has gone over 2 volumes... hmmm, i wonder why. doesn't make the shueisha editors staff look very intelligent, now does it...

I think raijin just added his work to fill out a niche audience they think they can reach out too... which they're probably right in thinking ~_~

So you think that issue 1 will be exactly the same as issue 0, considering they're gonna have to release all the first chapters again?
I'm also wondering wether i should start picking up Raijin Japan, cause they have fist of the north star in it instead of fist of the bright star or whatever its called ~_~

I'm pretty sure raijin 0 was all previews, and no first chapters. Unless what I've got is some promotional thing that's not raijin 0? I'll check it when I get home.

seeing that the entirety of city hunter chapter 1 was in raijin 0, i think it's safe to say that it's not all previews. their supplementary magazine, fujin, has shorter previews of all the series not covered in raijin 0 itself. shonen jump 0, on the other hand, IS all previews.

hey! i got raijin issue 1 in the mail today... it appears that instead of simply printing the first chapters of CH and FBS like they did in issue 0, they actually included both the first AND second chapters. i guess that took up a lot of room, or they're not willing to go over a certain page amount, since there were only four series in the issue. first president of japan starts in the second issue, i'm looking forward to that. unfortunately the one title i was most interested in from their previews, "encounter", isn't going to be in the magazine for a while. i guess they'll introduce it further down the line.
