He is referring to TW's type of download script where we can save bandwith by:
1) By rotating through the mirrors provided.
2) You can set an amount of times a file can be downloaded daily or monthly to each individual url. If it reaches that number, that url will be skipped. If there are no urls with available slots, it will display a message saying the file is unavailable today and to try again tomorrow.
3) You can set the amount a single ip can use the download script daily (currently set to 25, but easily modified).
4) You can ban ip addresses so that that address cannot use the download script.
The above text copy pasted with flair from spaceman's original post introducing the concept. I think we're just all really lazy right now |

Ah. That thing. I remember downloading two torrent files, then it said I had to wait a few minutes to download a chapter via http. That was rather annoying. Not to mention the more people using a BT the less there are direct leeching. |

Hehe, it's no problem. Just refreshing it as an option. :) But yeah, BT is the best option obviously, the best way to do it is probably the way TW and SnoopyCool does it which is offer it on BT for a week at first, then offer it as a web link. That way the majority of the data transfer will probably be through BT.
And I'm tempted to start copying those BT files onto our server because linking to thehawks forces you to their root directory instead of the actual torrent file. |
