Its been a while since I read the original Metropolis.

Let's see. Poor Kenichi! I have to say I like Kuroda's older, "modern" rendition of him. He always was the slightly dorky, goody-two-shoes character. But instead of the honest hero, he's more like a loser hero by chance LOL. Aw, kinda cute.

The Mitchy character is just like...woh lol. Because I had forgotten the original characters' names, I didn't realize what character he was supposed to resemble until the end! Haha, wow is he different. Pretty much the opposite of the original Mitchy in personality andpreferred gender.

The bit where the guys whip off their masks is sooo Tezuka. I think that happens repeatedly in the original? I was laughing at that scene and how Mitchy is just like, "Oh well...bye." And the evil plan?!

Favorite line: "This won't help me get into college though will it?"

Oh, and here's the original of what the cover looked like:

Overall, I loved the project! Its so fascinating to see the mixture of Tezuka and Kuroda's themes and styles, since I'm a fan of both.

EDIT - But Kuroda's use of color sure looked strange. Interesting color choices. I think I prefer his black and white work. I can see how at points it looks weird to have Tezuka's Uncle character drawn by Kuroda, and how the evil-pointy nose character isn't quite so defined as Tezuka would have done it. But its all about adaptation. I loved this!
