Hello MangaScreener,
My name is anita_hailey. I am a member of a Vietnamese manga-translating group named Manga Palace Group, and our website is: http://mangapalace.forum-viet.net.
I have finished reading "Mushishi", and this is really an excellent manga. I love the artwork and enjoy every story in it, thanks to your English scanlations. Consequently, I am sure that many manga's fans in Vietnam will also like this series.
We have an intention of translating "Mushishi" into Vietnamese, so I am writing to ask for your permission. Would you mind if we used your scanlations to translate this manga?
Of course, our work is totally non-profit and we will put your group's name, MangaScreener, in the credit. I will be very grateful if my request is accepted.
Thank you so much for giving us opportunity to read many marvelous translated manga series.

But could you tell me who Del Rey is and where I can ask for permission?
I used to think that we just have to ask the scanlation group.

I understand what you mean. But again, as you can see, we are an online manga-translating group, so our mangas are posted online for online readers.
We do not intend to publish the series Mushishi, and our work is not for commercial purposes, too. Asking for permission of the English scanlating group is a compulsory step because we do not translate from the Japanese version.
In short, as long as you agree to our request, we can start this project. Therefore, could you give us the permission to use your scanlations to translate Mushishi into Vietnamese? |

I am terribly sorry for wasting your time and bothering you too much. I can understand why you refuse us, but all we want is to make the series Mushishi popular to every manga fan in Vietnam.
I love all of your manga projects, especially Mushishi. It is really regrettable for Vietnamese readers not to read this marvelous series while thanks to your scanlations we can enjoy its stories and artwork. We promise to keep all the credits and links to your website, and we only have the Vietnamese credit.
I was depressed when you said "no". But if you still do not change your mind, that is fine by me.
Anyway, thanks for spending tim reding my letter.
Wish you success in your work and bring to readers much more great manga series. *I'm your big fan  *
