| The Love Hina vs. Chobits article was one of the best analysis of something I hate that I have ever come across. It actually made me re-evaluate why I hate those two titles so much. |
Heh, I had the same thoughts... its nice to see two fan favorites be ripped to shreads like that .

For the most part the article hit the nail on the head, but the one thing the author didn't realize was the whole moe fetish and that Chobits was aimed at neither a standard male or female audience but a very warped male audience who's a little too deep into anime fandom to understand reality. The author managed to completely understand that fetish and then at the end didn't make the connection.

What I'm hoping for as a result of the comics journal's efforts on starting to cover manga that they eventually attract some alt comics types to the sides of manga that are getting woefully under-promoted here. A gaze at manga oriented topics in the comics journal forum reveals a completely clueless evaluation of the medium one that almost doesn't realize the work that's flooding the market is the equivalent of superhero comics in Japan and very rarely the more interesting works. Hopefully between the scanlation scene and good critical writing from the guys at the comics journal will see more high quality manga commercially released by people other than 2 people in england who know jack shit about marketing and distribution .
