Akira, Giant Robo (the '90s one)
...That's about it. Eight more from me would just be padding. Seen a few bits of the Ninja Bugeicho movie from the sixties, which is pretty interesting - good luck finding it though. |

I might as well give this a shot I don't like mixing films with tv shows and ovas, and since there are so few OVAs that I really like, I might as well combine them with the TV shows if that makes any sense:
Films:
1. Only Yesterday (to be shown in the US on TCM next thrusday!)
2. Mindgame
3. Porco Rosso
4. Millennium Actress
5. Noiseman Sound Insect
6. Grave of the Fireflies
7. My Neighbors the Yamadas
8. Memories
9. Jin Roh
10. Perfect Blue
TV/OVA
1. Serial Experiments Lain
2. Paranoia Agenet
3. Kino's Journey
4. Haibane Renmei
5. Cowboy Bebop
6. Samurai Champloo
7. Dead Leaves (I think this is an OVA)
8. FLCL
9. Digital Juice
10. Neo-Tokyo |

Off the top of my head and in no order. Though I'll probably want to change it the moment I post it.
Maison Ikkoku
Kimagure Orange Road
Porco Rosso
Whisper of the Heart
Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories
Macross Plus
Touch movies (they count as 1 entry)
BubbleGum Crisis (more as a concept than anything)
Here is Greenwood
Urusai Yatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer
I wish there was room for Grave of the Fireflies, but honestly, that's not one of my favorites. It's the best anime of all time, but favorite implies something you want to watch more than once.
P.S. If you ain't old school, you're no school.
EDIT: I really should've found a way to put in Gunbuster. Its final episode is one of the great moments in OAV history. |

It is a top ten list and it's fairly close to the bottom of said list, there aren't too many good anime out there anyways.... Though I do like Jin Roh, its a very classy film I just wouldn't rate it on the same level as Mindgame. |

hmm.
1. Gravitation
2. FMA (hated the ending. hated it so much. or else it would be number 1)
3. Last Exile
4. Honey and Clover
5. Hikaru no Go (awesomness for animation. ending sucked.)
from there.. not much that I really loved to be on a favorites list. |

I was supprised to see how many actually good anime people have on their lists. I have been to other forums with the same topic and their answers were just trash (Love Hina, ElfenLied, Gunslinger Girl). So my top 10 are (movies and tv shows):
1. Macross: Do You Remember Love
2. Apocalypse Zero
3. Urusei Yatsura
4. Maison Ikkoku
5. Giant Robo
6. Keroro Gunsou
7. Gankutsuou
8. Mazinger Z/ Mazinkaiser
9. Getter Robo
10. Otaku no Video
There are just too many good things to make just a top 10 list. Mind Game, Gunbuster, Golgo 13, any older show should be up there...screw it they are all my favorite. |

UY! Man, I've been meaning to buy some UY DVDs but they're way too fucking expensive. 20 bucks for like 3 episodes? I got the entire season of Firefly for less than 20 bucks.
I dunno about my top 10.
UY
Saikyo Robo Daiouja
Jungle wa itsumo Hare nochi Guu
Grave of the Fireflies
Spirited Away
FLCL
Cowboy Bebop
Trigun |

Most of the boxsets are now out of print. Even though its bad for AnimeEgo I would try getting them off of Bittorrent. Beautiful Dreamer is possibly my favorite movie ever (next to Do You Remember Love). Also, Takahashi is a total hack. The only good things she has ever done is Maison Ikkoku and Urusei Yatsura (and it was Oshii that actually made the tv series good!). |
