Regular readers of Spirits probably knew about this already, but I was totally oblivious to it until just now, while browsing through mixi. For those of you who don't know, mixi is Japan's largest social networking website (kind of like the Japanese equivalent of myspace perhaps? I'm not familiar with myspace though so that might not be accurate), and it looks like they've launched a tie-in with Big Comic Spirits.

(Note: You'll probably have to be a registered mixi member to look at it)
The deal seems to be that the main characters of select Spirits titles each have their own mixi account, with blogs (which seems to be updated pretty regularly so far). Unfortunately though, I haven't kept up with Spirits these days so the only titles on there I'm really familiar with are Danchi Tomoo and 3-mei-sama. It would've been cool to read Kenji's (or Friend's!) blog during the early chapters of 20th Century Boys.
Of course, mixi members can post comments for each blog entry, so there's inevitably some "this is a stupid idea" type of comments, but I love the comments that people are making on Tomoo's blog. |
