Mass Effect is pretty much consuming all my time. I can understand where some of the criticism comes from (auto-saves will drive you insane) and it is definitely flawed, but everything else about it is so awesome that your willing to forgive just about anything.
I'm also re-playing Ico. One of my all-time favorites. Classic platforming/puzzle-solving mixed with a strangely hypnotic, myth-like story. What's really impressive is how well the six year old visuals hold up on the strength of the lighting and the art direction. |

I really, really loved Mass Effect, especially after I got the combat down to the point of not dying every two minutes. The couple of hours were better than 96% of all Sci-fi movies. I'm on my second play through now.
Call of Duty 4 was only about 5 hours, but those were the best five hours I've played all year. Multiplayer makes it money well-spend.
On the hand-held end of things, Contra 4 is awesome. Its great to finally get a Contra game that doesn't suck. Too bad its totally kicking my ass right now. |

Ahh ... It seems like I haven't had time for gaming lately, but I did get some new games that I will eventually play through. Few of the newest additions are:
Simon the Sorcerer 4 - Being an adventure game fan, I was waiting for this one for quite some time. From what I've seen, it's quite okay. It's much much better than the Simon 3D fiasco, but I still have to play it through to tell if it lives up to the first two titles.
Sam & Max: Season 2 - Last episode of Season 2 will be released in april and I already got my Season 2 subscription. I did play through the first season but didn't touch any of the S2 episodes. Fans are pleased, so I'm not worried.
Me & My Katamari - I finally got the PSP version of Katamari but like with other titles, I just haven't got the time to play it. I'm just waiting for some time off.
The only game I play somewhat regularly is Star Warriors [a.k.a 战魂]. If you got a Symbian mobile and you like shoot em up's, get this one. Check out the video.

Noone talks about games anymore? Oh, come on! Ok, since last time [back in 2008!] I talked about adventure games, here's some good news for anyone who likes them - Telltale Games will soon celebrate its fifth birthday and they thought it would be cool to sell their games at a discount price for a limited period of time. If you want to get some of their episodes to see what Telltale is all about, use the following code and you'll pay $5 for each.
8QH-FMB-7VZ-WEN
Regular price is $8.95 per episode, and this I think applies to all of Telltale titles. This offer was sent to those who bought stuff at Telltale website in the past, but if you bought a standard retail edition of, let's say Sam & Max, you obviously won't recieve a code. I decided to post it in case someone wants to try out some of Telltale's games. It's actually cheaper to get whole seasons at $5 a pop than to buy whole season packages.
The code can be used over and over again, so anyone can get a discount. You can get yourself some Sam & Max, Bone or Strong Bad. The prices in the store will be unchanged, but once you add some stuff to your cart and go to checkout, you'll see that it's only $5 a pop.
You can also start shopping using the discout coupon by clicking here. The coupon code is valid until the promotion ends on June 17. Happy birthday Telltale Games! |

Personally playing inFamous now. :)
One of my friends worked on the game so he sold me a copy for $10. Though I gave him $20.
It's pretty fun. Kind of similar to Crackdown if anyone's played that. |

I feel it my duty to talk about Machinarium here.
About the best point & click game I've played since... well, almost forever.
An independent flash game for PC/Mac created by a couple of guys from the Czech Republic, on a budget of about 1000USD iirc.
www.machinarium.com
Charming characters/story, haunting soundtrack, and some really smart puzzles. Not like a lot of p&c games where the puzzles are too farfetched.
On that note, this game has zero dialogue, yet this detracts nothing from the experience. |
