I assume its a new season gearing up and what not I continuously
hear about various interesting series that are going to be made into
anime but I don't usually end up remembering what is actually coming
out when these things come out.
Past cycles Nanashi has stepped up and done a breakdown of new
series and I always found that really useful and informative....
So what's new, what's coming out and what is worth watching?
Break it down folks, thanks. |

Well, I've not yet watched any of the new stuff, but anime I will be checking out and I'm looking forward to: (feel free to tease me about my taste in anime)
Sousei no Aquarion - don't really know too much about but IIRC it's got Yoko Kanno doing the music and the production team are the same people who did Macross Zero. (I think)
Eyeshield 21 - Jump manga turned into anime, I liked the Festa OVA, so I'll give the series a try, my expectations aren't too high so if it turns out crappy I won't be too disapointed.
He Is My Master - Gainax could do an anime about paint drying and I'd watch it. I'm sooo their bitch.
MAR - I liked the manga.
Ichigo Mashimaro - More similar to Azumanga Daioh than School Rumble is... and I want to see if they'll put the Aphex Twin and the Super Fury Animals on the soundtrack. =)
Speed Grapher - The preview looked pretty cool.
Emma - I heard it described as an olde english version of YKK, so I'll catch at least the first episode.
Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid - Yay! A proper sequel?
Hells Angels. - I've no idea when in 2005 this is going to be on, but I can't wait for it. |

There is no fucking way i'd watch anything called "He is my master"
Then again i'm not a huge gainax fan etc etc.
Yeah ill watch out for the fmp sequel and the macross zero thing
the rest can eat my nuts esp emma aka anything YKK related
speed grapher? Wtf?
Is this about someone who draws graphs speedily? If it was done
in a yakitate style I'm all for it. |

I started playing the first episode of Speed Grapher, and then only 5 seconds into the shitty house-music opening I was scrambling to turn it off.
Oh and the actual show was like some really shitty-looking Cowboy Bebop knockoff. With lots of shitty techno instead of jazz music. But I actually found it pretty amusing in a bad way. |

I watched ES 21. From what I saw, it didn't differ from the manga at all (If I remember the first chapters correctly).
The OP was listenable.
The ED was catchy but borderline retarded.
I've got MAR downloading right now and it's almost done. From what I've heard of it in #mangascreener, it's a generic shounen fighting manga which relies on the old standard of a fighting tournament arc. Still, I haven't read it and the only chapter I have read was in a random issue of Sunday and I hardly think that counts so I'm gonna check it out. |

Well out of my list of 'to watch' I've now seen MAR ep 1. It seems way more subdued (esp the OP) than I was expecting it to be, looks like there might be quite a lot of CG in it, I'm unsure as to if that's good or not. :/
I think I'll prolly leave off getting more MAR raws and just wait for the fansubs. |

How's this new series of Glass Mask working? I read somewhere that the previous Glass Mask anime never finished properly... is this a continuation or is it starting from the start again? |

It's a remake from the start. The old anime was cut off prolly because of budget/ratings or some stuff o.o Or maybe at the time they had caught up with the manga plot-wise.
So far, I like it. They're edited the palette of colours, got rid of some those old school, ridiculous shoujo haircuts (curls upon curls) and the pacing is pretty good so far. The animation is also pretty well done and I love Maya Kitajima's seiyuu. I think she pulls off the dramatic actress part really well without being too over the top. I like the OP and ED songs too.
And I'm watching Eyeshield21 to satiate my need for shounen anime D: Shut up, I liked the manga.
No, Icaica, I'm not watching Loveless. >_> |
