I being a huge Inoue Takehiko fan have a love hate relationship with Real. Real being his most recent manga, which he releases bimonthly. It is about basketball, however from a far different stance than Slam Dunk; its about wheelchair basketball.
Argueably the worst thing about the series is its speed, which is extremely slow, it takes forever just for a volume of the manga to come out, but not just that... something about it just seems cliche.
Whats wrong with me?! |

i haven't seen too much that would seem cliche. but then again, he's clearly still in the very early developing stages of the story. but it IS criminal that it's only a side project at the moment. i'm hoping that he turns REAL into a full-time series when vagabond is finished. so far, however, i think it's really amazing. |

Well i think the biggest problem i have is that the one guy who you hate the most is the one who gets in the accident and gets paralyzed... that just seems cliche, i know that inoue is doing it really really well, but i don't feel a damn thing for the guy, i'm just like "he had it coming, dork!" |

true. but then i thought inoue did a good job of showing you how screwed up and pathetic that guy is now... i mean, yeah, of course i thought he was jerk before, but now i just feel sorry for the guy. it's pretty clear that his part was set up from the beginning... of course you know the guy's going to pull himself together and hopefully turn himself around by getting into wheelchair basketball...
btw this manga has one of my alltime favorite lines: "kochi kame volume 200" |

Well yeah, but don't you think its kind of cliche that you can already predict that happening?! at least i think it is...
plus i still don't feel sorry for him, thats what he gets for hanging out with kogals! |
