Since I'm bored, I decided to see how this would go over ^_^;
This is all judged off first episode experiences. I'll also be updating this as I go with revisions and summaries and such. Again, this is all opinion.
Synopsis lifted from AnimeNewsNetwork and should be respected as such.
Getbackers: If its stolen, theyll steal it back! Ginji and Ban are partners who retrieve stolen items. Ginji has a special technique that allows him to send massive currents of electricity through the air, and Ban uses his Evil Eye technique to send his foes into a nightmare illusion for one minute exactly. Together, they take on various thugs in the underworld, retrieving lost items (especially for cute girls).
Review: Now, seeing as I read the manga shortly before watching the first episode, I have to say I'm impressed. The animation rarely fell short of expectations of this day and age. My only honest complaints were to Mizuki's seiyuu. At times, it felt like she had no idea how to give her character life and personality. If this improves, I'll be happy to raise my opinion of this already fun show. 7\10
Spiral: Narumi's brother is dead, and he left behind a cryptic message: Beware of the Blade Children. The next day at school, a girl is found lying on the ground, having dropped from a 5th floor stairwell, hitting a truck on her way down. Narumi is the only suspect, but he knows he didnt do it. Who was this girl, why did she fall, and who are the Blade Children? These, and many more questions, must be answered by Narumi.
Review: What can I honestly say? After watching the first episode, I'm extremely dissapointed. The first mystery unravels itself in mere moments without any kind of clues. It leaves you feeling more like you're just there instead of urging you to figure it out before hand. Minor mistakes such as his sister, the lead detective on the case, still working said case when he was a suspect could have been avoided. Without much more to work with, this series seems mediocre and just lack luster. I can't see a reason to continue watching this series. 4/10
(Heh..Damn cut\paste for the summaries got me more than I was really reviewing) |
