Yaaaay! A new metal slug is to hit the store shelves this summer! So all of you Neo Geo freaks better get 300$ 'cause that's about how much the game will cost [Japanese NTSC ver. of course]. So who's excited? I am! I've seen like 4 screenshots and I can't wait 'till I get my hands on that baby. Playmore does it again. Thank god the old SNK staff is with them or I'd be scared that they would make a 3D Metal Slug or something equally horrifying. |

you've got to be pretty hardcore to spend $300 for one game. |

Sadly, that's what Neo Geo is all about. Hardcore gaming for hardcore gamers. You can go hunting to the arcade halls when it comes out and with just enough luck you can play it. I haven't heard anything about Metal Slug 5 being converted for PS2, Xbox or GameCube so I wouldn't count on conversion. There is some rumors about GBA version but that speaks for itself. SNES quality gfx canät match Neo Geo sprite 2D magic. And I doubt it will ever come down to less than 300$. Neo Geo games can only go up :) There alot of Neo Geo fans out there who are willing to pay tons of cash for the titles for this console. Check out ebay. |

This keyboard is killing me. Check out all the typos in my posts. As for manga and 300$ probably lots but how about how much manga can you download for 300$ ;) Manga is pretty hard to get a hold of around here so I'm pretty much stuck with the downloads and ocasional imports. |

You'll have to look more for really good titles. Double Dragon, yea, that might cost about 100$ or so but wait till you see the price they ask for Kizuna Encounter, Maruko's Quiz or Blazing Star [Last two came out only in Japan so they are pretty rare. Same with european version of Metal Slug.] There is this story about ebay and one Neo Geo game. Someone was selling an unreleased game in a cart form. The price it was sold for was about 220$, then one collector emailed personally the winner of an auction and told him he'll double the price. So the guy earned about 220$ eithout even recieving the game he bought. Guy who bought it untill this day haven't shared the game. Which means there is no other copy in a rom form. For one confirmed existing copy he must be pleased that he paid only 440$. Anyways. If you are checking ebay you got to check if they are Neo Geo CD games or carts. CD's are cheaper of course, butthey are not as popular as carts, because of the loading time and often the conversions for the Neo Geo CD weren't 100% accurate. That's why they're cheaper. [Not to mention a CD is just a piece of plastic with a little bit of metal in it, while a cart is an electronical device.] |
