O__O wow, you'd almost think you dont want people to learn! thank you to everyone who made the effort to reply, even with the condescending tones!

now i have more questions.

1. where would i get hold of some episodes of cowboy beebop the tv series?

2. what is tabris?

3. what other anime is done by the person who did akira?

4. what are some classic manga comics that i can purchise for not too much money? (please no more dragonballz!)

5. what are some essential bits of research i should do when researching manga and japanese anime?

Here, have some more patronization! Contrary to popular opinion, this message board is not a school! It actually doesn't exist for the sole purpose of teaching you the deepest darkest secrets of anime! Imagine that! Maybe others are still willing to indulge you after your oh-so-snappy show of thanks, but I certainly am not! I hope you are also appreciating my personal effort expended in this reply!

1) Um, buy the DVDs?
2) Tabrawhat?!
3) Only one that comes to mind is "Memories" it was a 3 part art anime.
4) Thats too broad, what genre do you like?
5) There are several books out on manga and anime and their influences in the west, i suggest you goto the LIBRARY. God forbid anyone would ever want to do research there >_<

1. why anime characters never get it on when they are obviously in love! i.e princess mononoke!

2. why the male characters allways seem to have dark hair!

3. why everyone has perfect bodies.

1) If you live in a place were Cowboy is abailable on DVD buy them, if not, just download them on WinMX, Kazaa or any of those.
2) Tabris, thats the last angel on Evangelion, Kaworu, right? As to what he IS, well... he is like Jesus, the one who through his own sacrifice saves the humanity.
3) Memories and Roujin Z, and the scripts for Perfect Blue (directed by Satoshi Kon) and the great Metropolis (based on the manga by Tezuka, directed by Rintaro)
4 and 5) just read a lot of manga and you´ll get to know enough, and you´ll find your classics. Manga, as everything, is about trying and being wrong and learning from that. Hope that doesn´t sound too cocky... ^^

1. you can watch it on cartoon network when they put it back on, or just download the episodes illegally
2. some weird guy in evangelion who likes shinji (is this what youre talking about?)
3. He wrote the screenplay for metropolis, and wrote legend of mother sarah and domu, both are quality manga.
4. you can always download them from here or buy some stuff from barnes and noble or waldenbooks, which have relatively good prices.
5. no idea.

1. cowboy bebop is out in the uk but only the first 3 episodes becoz uk is so crap
2. tabris, is the angel of free will (otherwise known as kaworu in evangelion)
3. memories,rojin z, legend of mother sarah which was also helped by the dude who did gohst in the shell, domu a childs dreamhe didnt write the script for perfect blue Tomeya my man, but he did help on some of the character design, other are unfinishd worls like "fireball"
4. astroboy is classic, transformers,ranma half,fist of the north star,project ako..that shuld get u rollin Wink

3. You mean the director? The only thing that can come to mind is steamboy (look for it soon)

4. well go to japan and you can get tanks for around 3-5 dollars.

5. nothing, unless you're trying to write an essay. If that's the case then you shouldn't.
