Of course I enjoy them when I'm watching them, but I've been having nightmares every night... I'm usually so busy that I don't get enough sleep as it is, so I'm really worried! (sob, sob...)
Back: While staying at his girlfriend Mouri Ran's father Kogorou's detective agency for free, Conan searches for the headquarters of a shady organization. Even while hiding from society's eyes as an elementary school student, the diminutive detective Conan saves the bumbling detective Mouri Kogorou by doing the detective work for him!!
Back Flap: Aoyama Goshou's Illustrated Book of Great Detectives #2 - Akechi Kogorou - Akechi Kogorou is a famous Japanese detective brought to life by Edogawa Ranpou. He gives off a strong impression of being a dandy young gentleman, on his first introduction, he is dirty haired and dirty clothed, living in a room the size of 4 and a half tatami mats (the standard sizing system of rooms in Japan) on the second floor of a tobacco shop, surrounded by books. His detective law was that human mentality is more important than evidence. He exposed the truth in criminal cases using psychology. He could tell if someone was a master of disguise. One should always be suspicious of new characters. There was always an atmosphere of illusion surrounding his cases. It would be wise for unusually timid readers such as myself not to read these alone at night. (My recommendation is Ougongamen, "The Golden Mask".)
Summary of events up to this point: Kudou Shinichi, a junior at Teitan High School, is a famous high school detective called the "Savior of the Japanese Police Department", solving a myriad of confusing cases. One day, on a date with his girlfriend Mouri Ran, he meets some suspicious-looking men, and Shinichi decides to follow them with his usual curiosity. But when Shinichi sees the men from a shady organization carry out a blackmail exchange, they give him a poison to silence him... and the effects of the poison shrunk his body. A panicked Shinichi calls for the help of his next-door neighbor, the eccentric inventor Professor Agasa, to help him find the people who did this... Then he uses the name "Edogawa Conan" and goes to live in Ran's house, a detective agency...!!
