Back Flap: Aoyama Goshou's Illustrated Book of Great Detectives #7 - Detective Colombo - If you want an LA police homicide detective who says "My wife always tells me...", then you're talking about Detective Colombo!! Identified by his shabby raincoat and ruffled bed-hair. Driving around in his beat-up car and dropping cigar smoke wherever he walks, he's the perfect example of a grimy, middle-aged man. You'd never dream that this is a stellar detective whose brilliant mind can crack even the most perfectly impregnable crimes!! Always be careful, for even when he questions suspects and talks about off-topic subjects, it's a strategy to tire them out, make them slip up and force them into a corner!! And he's very persistant! Once he's got his eye on the culprit, he'll follow them everyday, hounding them psychologically, and even setting traps to capture them. If I was the one whodunit, I'd spill all my guts the second I saw him. (My recommendation is The Wine of Separation.)
Summary of events up to this point: The great little detective, Edogawa Conan. His true identity is Kudou Shinichi, the great high school detective. His body shrunk when he was given a mysterious poison by a criminal syndicate. He's currently freeloading at his girlfriend Mouri Ran's house, the Mouri Detective Agency. While he searches for the location of the mystery organization, he solves cases to the credit of goofy, bumbling Mouri Kogorou. Using the disguise of an elementary school student to fool the eyes of society, he forms the Detective Boys. He's completely stuck being a kid. Then, Conan and his 'family' go to the "World's Greatest Spring Festival". There, a man they took pictures for is a murder suspect... Can Conan use his genius to break down a cleverly devised alibi...?!
