Story. I"s is a standard, down-to-earth shonen love story by Masakazu Katsura, with the one unique point being that the female love interest becomes a celebrity in the second half of the manga. I fell in love with the art immediately (as most do) and the story hooked me after a few volumes. The first half is your typical romantic hijinx, full of unfortunate misunderstandings and adolescent angst, while the second half shows off a much more serious, dramatic side to the story. So far this is the only series that I have completed entirely, although most of the manga I'm doing is still running. I"s ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1997 to 2000, for a total of 15 volumes. Shueisha also printed an A5-size Perfect Edition (Kanzenban) with the original color pages, which ran to 12 volumes. I began the project August 2001 and finished June 2002. While most of the language is pretty harmless, I wasn't above tossing around some heavier swear words into the mix every once in a while.
