Dorotabo: No no no, this won't do at all!  When your head explodes, there's got to be WAY more brain matter flying out!!  Bloosh!!
	And the eyeball bursts forth WITH the nerve attached at the back!  Duh!!

[But fresh on the heels of his new smash hit horror series, "Glory of the Beast," he is an unstoppable force!]

Chapter 7: Happiness

Dorotabo: More guts!  More blood!!
	The effect of the flames causing those secretions to bubble and boil is extremely important to this scene!!

Assistant: Yuuuck.

Assistant: But how should I draw it?

Dorotabo: You pathetic sack of flesh!
	Now everyone, pay attention!  I'm going to screen one of my secret car crash footage tapes for you!

Assistant: Eeeek.

Editor: But Sensei, you don't need to go THAT far!

Dorotabo: No, I must!
	The most popular character and heroine MUST be raped by 100 evil men and strangled to death with a rope!!
	And while the protagonist watches, rats will devour her flesh until only bones remain!!

Editor: Nooo!

Gichiyama: Ha ha.
	Hard at work?

Dorotabo: (gasp)  It's the longtime horror heavyweight, Gyotensai Gichiyama-sensei!!

Gichiyama: I've enjoyed your work, I must say.
	Keep it up, and don't compromise your vision.

Dorotabo: Thank you!
	It is an honor, Sensei!
	Guess that means I'll have to kill off the main character's sister, too.

Editor: Oh no!

If the "happiness" of a mangaka is determined by the level of satisfaction with which he
completes his job, then he was unmistakably "happy."  However, over time there are many ways in
which mangaka happiness and human happiness can find themselves at odds.  (I think)

Dorotabo: No!  God, Jesus, no!
	What the hell kind of blood flows this way?!

Assistant: But Sensei-

Dorotabo: I won't hear it!  Human blood is like THIS!!
	It's got to be like THIS!  THIS!!

Assistants: Eeeek!
	Sensei, no!
	Sensei, the hospital has called.

Dorotabo: What?!

Nurse: Congratulations, you have a new baby daughter.

Dorotabo: Ohhh!
	She's adorable!

Wife: I'm thinking of naming her Nunuko.

Dorotabo: Oooh!
	What a good name!  What a good name!
	What should I do?  I'm so excited!  I'm so excited!
	Can such a gorgeous, adorable thing exist in this world?  Yes, it can!

Nunuko: Aaaa.
	Oooo.

Dorotabo: Nunuchaan!  Bababoo!
	It's Papaaaa!!

Nunuko: Oooo!
	Aaa-aaa.

Dorotabo: Mwooooh!  Mwooooh!
	I don't need status or glory, or money or life, as long as I have Nunuko!
	Okay Nunu, wet's take a booboo baff.
	Oooh, it's chilly!

Assistants: Sensei,
	we have a deadline to meet.

Dorotabo: Deadlines?!  You care more about deadlines than letting Nunuko catch chill?!  You cad!

Assistant: But Sensei!

Wife: I'll take her in the bath, dear.

Assistant: Sensei, how does this look for the little girl's dismemberment scene?

Dorotabo: Gasp!
	No, no, no!  This kind of manga is no good for raising youngsters!!
	We have to draw a more heartwarming manga!  Something that kids will read and live in peace!!
	Let's create a wonderful world where all live in harmony and cooperation, guys!!

Assistant: Uh, what the?

Kids: ...What happened to "Glory of the Beast"?
	It's totally weak now.
	I'll buy Tachinosuke Chikubi's new manga instead.

Wife: You're going to Gichiyama-sensei's?

Dorotabo: I got an email asking me to come visit.
	I'll just drop by and have a chat.
	Let's see, I think it's around here.

Sign: Daughter

Gichiyama: Oh!  Woe is me!
	{Do you understand now, Dorotabo?
	Someday, all your children will leave your grasp.  Do not be misled by the "happiness" before your eyes.  Continue your destiny as a mangaka!}

Dorotabo: Noooo!

It was a dire, emotional plea from the master to the apprentice not to forsake his "happiness" as
a mangaka for his "happiness" as a human being.  Young Dorotabo returned home, feeling as if the
warm flame nurturing his soul had been doused with icy water.  However...

Nunuko: Aaaaa!

Dorotabo: Ooh, I don't care if you betray me!
	As long as you're cute now!  Such a cutie!

One month later, Glory of the Beast's cancellation was made official.
