Have the police found Konrad's body yet? - Page 165 - Husband: No... they've labeled him "missing" and they're looking for him now. Wife: I knew we shouldn't have hidden the body in the forest!! We should have gone straight to the police... Husband: What's the use in saying that now?! You were the one who thought I shot him!! Shit. This is what we get for winning the lottery... Chapter 149 : A Peaceful Home - Page 167 - [Cologne] [German Center for the Advancement of Child Literacy] Clerk: Hmmm, I'm not seeing it. Your author Klaus Poppe has nothing published here in Germany, I'm afraid. Tenma: I see... Thank you for your trouble. Clerk: Oh... in that case... Would you like me to introduce you to someone who would know more about storybooks? Tenma: A collector? Clerk: Not just a collector... - Page 168 - Clerk: More like a fanatic. Man: Klaus Poppe... Tenma: Do you know him? Man: Jakub Farobek... Emil Scherbe... - Page 169 - Man: Know them? I think they and Poppe are all the same man. The art and content is different in each author's work... But when you've seen as much as I have, you notice these things. I couldn't tell you WHY he would use so many pennames, though. His art is good... but for some reason, I can't really appreciate his works. There are plenty of storybooks around the world that have dark content matter. But his stories are different from those, in a way. Tenma: How so? Man: Hmmm... - Page 170 - Man: They're brimming with malice... you could say... And another thing... This storybook from Helmuth Voss... published in Germany by Vierzig in '89. It's hard to get, because there were so few printed... But I believe he is also the same man as Klaus Poppe. - Page 171 - Tenma: How do you know that? Man: I told you, I can tell these things. No matter how he changes his art, there are little things that remain the same. The story's content is an about-face from the others. A thief sneaks into a village in the mountains... He plans to make off with a good sum of money, but as he interacts with the people of the village, he forgets how to steal... And he ends up leading a quiet life, helping the villagefolk... The title is "A Peaceful Home"... - Page 172 - Man: His usual unpleasant aftertaste is gone... However... The art took quite a turn for the worse. It's a strange thing. It seems his story got better, but he forgot how to draw... Like he had lost some kind of personal goal... Tenma: "A Peaceful Home"... A village in the mountains... <
