Story. One Piece is one of my absolute favorite mangas, and in my opinion, the best shonen action manga ever written/drawn. It's the story of Monkey D. Luffy (otherwise known as Luffy), a boy who dreams of being the "Pirate King" by finding the legendary treasure "One Piece". He eats a Devil "Gomu Gomu" Fruit that gives him the power to stretch out his body like Stretch Armstrong. One Piece has great characters, a real sense of fun and playfulness, and tons of humor, but that doesn't stop it from being incredibly dramatic and moving at times. Oda is a master storyteller and I can't wait to see the continued adventures of Luffy and his crew. If you think Dragon Ball is good stuff, you'll LOVE One Piece. One Piece began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997, and has been collected in 53 volumes so far, as well as 3 supplementary data books. It can be purchased in English from Shonen Jump. These scripts are not meant to compete with or replace the commercial English release of One Piece. They are only here to help people who own the Japanese (or any other non-English language, for that matter) manga to understand it. I was partway through the series when I realized I really didn't like the full-blown sailor swearing, (appropriate as that may sound) so I toned it down to a PG-13 level or so. I've been revising the scripts since some of them are very old and poorly done, and in the revisions, I made the language on the same level as the later volumes.
