The Story of One Piece, from Volume 1 to Volume 16: It is the Great Pirate Age. Countless pirates have raised their flags and gone to battle to find the legendary pirate king Gold Roger's hidden treasure, "One Piece." Luffy, who yearns to be one of those pirates, sets off on a voyage to become the Pirate King!!
Having reached the Grand Line, Luffy and company join with the princess Vivi to sail to the kingdom of Alabasta, in order to stop the secret crime syndicate Baroque Works from completing their "Takeover of Alabasta." But when they learn of the Boss of this secretive organization, Mr. 0 (Crocodile, one of the Seven Seas), they too have put their lives in danger.
After a battle with Baroque Works on an island of giants, things take an unexpected turn. The crew starts out at full speed when the takeover of Alabasta plan begins to kick into high gear, but Nami falls under a dangerously high fever. In order to find a doctor to attend to her, Luffy and crew stop at the snow-covered Drum Island. Pirates once attacked this country, and the king left the island, taking all the doctors with him. The only doctor left was one whom the people called "witch." Luffy and Sanji set out with Nami for the castle on top of the highest mountain on the island, where this "witch" dwells, but are met instead with an avalanche!
