The Story of One Piece, from Volume 1 to Volume 48: It is the Great Pirate Age. Countless
pirates have raised their flags and gone to battle to find the legendary pirate king Gold Roger's
hidden treasure, "One Piece." Luffy, who yearns to be one of those pirates, sets off on a
voyage to become the Pirate King!!
Having successfully arrived at the Grand Line, Luffy and crew head for Fishman Island with their new ship, the Thousand Sunny! However, the ship wanders into the haunted Florian Triangle. A new story begins when they come across a funny skeleton named Brook. The Sunny is brought to the ghost island, "Thriller Bark," a place full of the living dead! Nami accidently leads a group onto the island, where they learn the secret of the zombies' creation. Suddenly, they're on the run! The rest of Luffy's group charges after them, but in short time, Luffy, Zoro and Sanji all lose their shadows to the Seven Armed Sea, Moria Gecko, the very man who stole Brook's shadow as well! Even worse, Luffy's shadow is put into a zombie with the body of the devil Odz, the legendary "island-puller"! The now-shadowless trio are put back on the ship, where the rest of the crew meets up, except for the still-missing Nami...
When the shadowless victims awake, Franky tells them Brook's tragic past. He kept his afro intact and healthy for the sake of a 50-year-old promise to the whale, Laboon! Luffy swears to make Brook a member of the crew, and prepares for his re-entry to Thriller Bark, and a second chance at Gecko Moria!!
