Pluto Volume 4 Postscript : Mr. Urasawa and I by Rieko Saibara : Mangaka - Page 196 - Saibara: There is no flash or style to this piece of work. After all, these two men make such a gloomy, drab combo. Urasawa: (I can't go out in public!)(wahh) Nagasaki: (there)(there, buck up) Saibara: So I drew a manga about that idea (Eigyo Monogatari) in order to sell as much as I could, (I'll lick anyone's feet if it gets me money) Yamaki: (Now now)(Next we'll bust open a huge series in Shonen Jump) Saibara: In a sinister plot with my editor, Yamaki. Ouch! (Note: In Rieko Saibara's Eigyo Monogatari, she wrote a story directly about Urasawa and Nagasaki's take on Pluto in her usual snappy, sarcastic way.) Saibara: So, it was pathetic, sure, but money's money, and I didn't think I would ever have to see them face to face. (Problem 1: Naoki Urasawa's stories are way too long) Here we are, face to face. - Page 197 - Urasawa: It's nice to meet you, Ms. Saibara. This is for you. (Live Neville DVD) Saibara: He's my senior and way more successful, he's brought a DVD by one of the singers I secretly like, and I of course have nothing for him. Most people would think, what a perfectly considerate and humble man he is, but in the publishing world, WE DON'T PLAY LIKE THAT. Saibara: So I went home and wrote him a letter of "thanks." (who cares, I'm REALLY never gonna see him after this) * Actual Letter Thank you for your present. Since I don't think you're very good at drawing robots, use this as a reference. Saibara Urasawa: Thanks for the robot, Ms. Saibara! (wave wave) Sign: Tezuka Awards Saibara: WE MEET AGAIN At the ceremony, Mr. Urasawa draws "Ashita no Joe" and enjoys himself. Urasawa: (scritchy) Saibara: So this'll be next. Up to the point where his left side gets gouged under the bridge. I'm sure it'll be a long-ass story.
