But in the bottom of the inning, those bad boys of Nikotamagawa Academy start a desperate counterattack to achieve the victory and secure their dream. Can they salvage the team with a win in their fateful first game?!
The Story Thus Far: New teacher Kawato has accepted his mission to reform the currently-suspended baseball team. He scraps together nine members in time for their practice game against Yoga Daiichi High. The game begins, with only Shinjo absent. Aniya takes the lead with his powerful fastball and home run. But in the 3rd, signs of fatigue are already plaguing him. And with chaos in the field, they let the lead slip away. Kawato decides to make a pitching change. He will help them win by preserving Aniya. As it happens, Aniya threw 200 pitches the day before, and in a chance meeting with the school principal, promised him they would win the game to protect the team. When he learns about this, Wakana tries to do his part with a gutsy head-first slide. Down seven runs, the Futakotamaga 7th begins with a plucky attack. The opposing pitcher collides with Hiyama and injures his foot. Kawato is enraged by the other coach's cold attitude toward his player. And when his own players' dreams are insulted, Kawato uses his fists. The game could have been forfeited, but the umpire decides to let it continue.
