The Story Thus Far: New teacher Kawato has accepted his mission to reform the currently-suspended baseball team. He scraps together nine members in time for their practice game against Yoga Daiichi High. The game begins, with only Shinjo absent. Aniya takes the lead with his powerful fastball and home run. But in the 3rd, signs of fatigue are already plaguing him. And with chaos in the field, they let the lead slip away. Kawato is enraged by the other coach's humiliation of his players' dreams and punches him, but the game is allowed to continue. Still looking for a chance to get back in the game even when down seven runs, the bad boys play like a real team in the bottom of the 7th, plating four runs, then finally tying it on Aniya's three-run blast. After giving up another run in the 8th, Futakotamagawa Academy begins its last chance in the bottom of the 9th. Wakana comes to the plate with the tying runner on base and two outs. But his numb hand prevented him from holding the bat. Just at that moment, Shinjo appeared on the field. He hits the ball into the outfield, but Sekikawa is tagged out on a close play at the plate. Having lost their victory by one tiny run, the bad boy punks have finally carved their dreams into their hearts for good.
