Inside Flap: Several years ago, I happened to ride on a shinkansen train with a powerfully-built, handsome, sportsmanlike blond man. This foreigner was, surprisingly enough, painting in watercolor, inside the train. He had his paints, his pallette, and his water all set up and everything, for this dolphin painting he was working on. I thought, "It can't be him!" But the way he just painted this dolphin from total scratch, it looked just like that guy's art. I'm not necessarily a fan, but I've always felt a bit closer to Lassen after that.
Back Cover: A terrible brawl disqualified the Futakotamagawa High Baseball Team from playing in official games for six months. The student who initiated that fight as a first-year student has transferred to a different school now. What will happen when the reborn baseball team runs into him again?!
The Story Thus Far: New teacher Kawato has accepted his mission to reform the currently-suspended baseball team. He scraps together nine members in time for their practice game against Yoga Daiichi High. The game is a tightly-contested one, but even the sudden appearance of Shinjo in the late innings cannot stave off a close, frustrating loss. Yet now, the new baseball team has the dream of the "Koshien" firmly implanted in their hearts.
At school, too, the bad boys of the baseball team find themselves changing for the better: studying for tests and quitting smoking. One day, Kawato learns of the existence of a former Futakotamagawa student that was responsible for starting the fight that led to the team's suspension from official play. This boy, named Enatsu, was a regular starter in his first year of high school, just like Aniya, but he transferred to the infamous Megurogawa High after the incident. Hiyama suddenly finds himself harassed and attacked by Megurogawa baseball players at a batting cage. Despite Hiyama's lack of resistance, Enatsu joins the fight. Informed of the trouble, Kawato rushes to the scene to stop the fight... which leads to the scheduling of a grudge match on the diamond.
