[Genichiro Ryu]
Heir of the Japanese political family, the Ryus.  Survived his parents in the 2002 natural 
disasters that struck Japan.  Despite being rescued by Sakamaki, went missing when crossing the 
strait created by the splitting of the Japanese islands.  Later lived in Taiwan under Taiwanese 
parents for 15 years, lacking any memory of his childhood.  Even after his memory returned, he 
swore he would not return to Japan, but when learning of the plight of Japanese still unable to 
return to their homeland, he made the decision to face his home once again.  Taiwanese name: 
Xian.

[Zhang]
Raised in a Taipei orphanage since a young age.  Worked for the Taiwanese mafia Liu Hai Bang with 
his strength, but upon discovering the gang's manipulation of his "brother" and friend Jing Ming 
into killing an innocent Japanese mother and child, swears revenge against his employers.

[Ryotaro Hata]
Detective for the Taipei Police.  Moved to Taiwan with his parents after the disasters, abandoned 
his Japanese citizenship and became an ex-patriate, Yu Liaoming.  Chasing after the mind behind 
the murder of a Japanese mother and child and rising pressure against Japanese refugees.

[Takuma Ryu]
Japan's highest conservative, Chief Secretary of the LDP, Genichiro's grandfather.  Called 
together an Interior Emergency Response Committee with the prime minister after the disasters 
and, determining that Japan could not repair its infrastructure on its own, agreed to request 
humanitarian aid from America and China.

[Ikuo Jimichi]
A personal secretary and servant of the Ryu family for multiple generations.  Following 
Genichiro's traces on the orders of Takuma Ryu.  After 15 years of visiting refugee camps in 
South and North Japan and elsewhere around the world, he has finally been reunited with Genichiro 
in Taiwan.

[Goro Sakamaki]
Met and traveled with Genichiro in 2002 while carrying emergency supplies to the devastated 
masses of Tokyo.  Lost his home, wife and daughter when the Nankai earthquake hit Kobe.

[Takashi and Natsue Ryu]
Genichiro's parents, and LDP representatives.  The disasters struck while they were out shopping, 
with their son left at home.  While returning home to save Genichiro, their car was caught in a 
landslide and they were killed.

[Anti-Japanese Group]
A shadow group comprised of politicians, officials, military officers and businessmen.  They put 
pressure on the Japanese refugees that threaten their interests, applying political heat to the 
pro-Japanese president.  Hata's father is a member.

[Liu Hai Bang]
The biggest crime syndicate in Taiwan, headed by Huang and containing hired arms such as Yang the 
Assassin and Zhang.  They took the Anti-Japanese Group's money and created the sparks that would 
lead to political pressure against the Japanese refugees.  Zhang's spiritual younger brother Jing 
Ming killed a Japanese mother and child.

[Kurofuji]
Unlike the camp leader Ozu, who seeks harmony with Taiwanese society, this leader of a Japanese 
hardline people's movement seeks to reunite and repopulate his homeland through force alone.  
Planning an armed uprising in three different spots in Taiwan.

[Ozu]
Representative of the 80,000 Japanese refugees in the Taiwanese camp.  Upon learning that the 
support payments from America and the United Nations could be ended next year, strongly 
negotiates for Japanese refugees to be naturalized into Taiwanese society.

[Cai Qing-ling]
First female president of Taiwan.  A brilliant and wise woman.  Pro-Japanese.

[Shu Qin]
Ran a Chinese restaurant with her husband until the natural disasters of 2002.  While escaping 
the aftermath, they came across an amnesiac Genichiro and raised him as their own child.  Her 
husband has since died.
