August 10th, 2002. A day that no citizen of Japan would ever forget. At 10:20 AM, an 8.8 magnitude earthquake hits the Tokyo/Yokohama area. This triggers a volcanic eruption in still-active Mt. Fuji. The fearful tremors and volcanic ash steal the peace of the people's minds and paint the coming day black. But the nightmare does not end there. A trio of earthquakes occur in the Eastern, Southeastern and Southern Seas surrounding Japan. A horrific sight - the islands are split. Faced with unprecedented peril, the government requests temporary accomodation for refugees, and prepares to admit American and Chinese relief forces into the country. Among the havoc and chaos of the populace, one young boy calmly stares at the future... Here begins the chronicle of a man who believed in the sun and brought a Japan sunken into darkness back into the light.
