Back Flap: There is a thousand years of history separating the Vikings and me. A thousand years. That's an absurdly long time. We sometimes stop to imagine what life would have been like a thousand years ago. What about the Vikings? Between herding their sheep and stretching their twisted backs after long sessions at the loom, would they ever think, "How will people live, a thousand years from now?" I hope they did. Is it possible that somewhere, there exists an intact piece of writing or art showing the Viking's imaginary 21st century?
